DPWH: Rehab of existing dike along O’Donnell River nears completion

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to complete the rehabilitation of an existing dike along O’Donnell River in Capas, Tarlac.

The project involves restoration of a 282.80-meter river wall on the right bank of the Sta. Lucia section.

DPWH Tarlac 2nd District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos said this section of the major waterway was damaged by recent typhoons.

“Now that we are in the rainy season, the District Office is doing everything to finish this project on time for this will ensure the safety of those residing in the riverside areas,” Ramos added.

The single slope dike with a height of three meters is scheduled to be completed this October.

It was implemented under the Regular Infrastructure Program of the agency with funds sourced from the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
