MEYCAUAYAN CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the rehabilitation of the 540-square meter covered court at Barangay Pandayan in the City of Meycauayan, Bulacan.
The P4.9-million project involved extensive roof repairs, structural reinforcements, retrofitting pedestals, and replacing worn-out posts and trusses to enhance the building’s durability and ensure it serves the community for years to come.
DPWH Bulacan 2nd District Engineer George Santos explained that the repairs addressed a damaged roof and rusted building materials, which posed safety and durability concerns.
“This facility has been used by the barangay for years for community activities and social services. Given its importance, restoring the covered court was essential to ensure its continued usability, not only for recreation but also for providing essential public services, especially during emergencies or local government programs,” Santos said.
The rehabilitated facility now features 10 energy-efficient LED lights, which improve nighttime usability, ensure safety, and reduce electricity costs, providing long-term benefits to the barangay. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
