CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan — Police killed an armed drug dealer who engaged lawmen in a firefight during a buy bust operation in Bgy. San Martin while nine others including a couple were busted in Barangays Citrus and Gumaok Central on Wednesday.
In a report to Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., SJDM City police chief Supt Fitz Macariola at the same time said seven persons were also arrested while having shabu session in Bgy. Citrus also on Wednesday.
Macariola identified the slain drug dealer as Jomar Luban, of Bgy. Bagong Buhay in this city.
He said the suspect is listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Council (BADAC) watch list of drug pushers in the said area.
Macariola said the suspect sold a sachet of shabu worth P500 to a police undercover agent but when the lawmen was about to arrest him, Luban drew a handgun firing at the pursuing operatives who were prompted to returned fire.
A Soco team from the Bulacan PNP Crime Laboratory recovered a 9mm pistol still loaded with 3 live bullets, a red pouch containg nine pieces of sachets containing shabu, and 8 pieces of fired cartidge of 9mm bullets.
In Bgy. Gumaok, police anti-narcotics operatives arrested the husband and wife tandem of Fernando and Maria Bringula during a buy bust operation, Macariola said.
He said the drug pushing couple were busted after selling asachet of shabu worth P500 to a police undercover agent.
The duo did not resist arrest.
When frisked, the two yielded 11 more sachets of shabu.
Macariola also reported that seven persons were caught sniffing shabu in a suspected dope den in Bgy.Citrus after acocerned citizen tipped-off the police.
Appropriate charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed against the arrested suspects. —EMIL G. GAMOS
