A drug pusher was killed and five others were arrested in drug raids conducted by the Bulacan Police on Tuesday.
Bulacan PNP Acting Provincial Director Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna identified the slain drug suspect as a certain “Kaliwa” from Brgy. Wawa, Balagtas town.
In a joint operation conducted by the elements of Bulakan Municipal Police Station, Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), an armed encounter ensued between an undercover agent and the suspects who noticed the approaching police operatives.
Instead of submitting themselves to the police, one of the suspect immediately drew his .38 cal pistol (Armscor without serial number) and shot at the operatives. The police operatives retaliated which resulted in the death of the suspect while his cohorts on board a black Yamaha Mio Soul without plate number fled towards Bambang, Bulakan, Bulacan.
Recovered from the crime scene were seven pieces of medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected “shabu”; .38 caliber pistol (Armscor without serial number); spent shell and the marked money.
In similar raids, Bersaluna said five other drug suspects were arrested in in the City of San Jose del Monte, and towns of San Ildefonso and San Miguel wherein nine pieces of heat sealed plastic sachets of suspected “shabu”, and marked money were confiscated.
The arrested suspects were identified as Enrique Bayan Y Inoncilio, 42 years old, married, carpenter, a resident of, Brgy. San Vicente, San Miguel; Aries Delos Santos, married, from Brgy. Maasim, San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Jaime Pastrana y Nuñez, 52 years old, married, a resident of Brgy. Lapnit, San Ildefonso; and Jerwin Aquino Y Duldulao, 28 years old, single, jobless, and Leonardo Aquino y Duldulao, 27 years old, single, jobless, both residents of No. 9021, Provincial Road Grotto, Brgy Graceville, CSJDM Bulacan.
The seized illegal drugs were brought to the Bulacan Crime Laboratory Office for further examination while appropriate criminal complaints are being readied in court against the suspects. –ELOISA SILVERIO
