CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) have officially signed a Regional Memorandum of Agreement to strengthen the implementation of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) in Central Luzon.
DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela said the partnership outlines a collaborative effort between the agency and TAU to combat poverty and empower disadvantaged communities through capacity-building, employment facilitation, and microenterprise support.
Under the agreement, DSWD will provide data and technical assistance and oversee the implementation of capacity-building interventions.
TAU, on the other hand, will offer training, mentoring, research support, and access to facilities for SLP participants.
The agreement was signed by DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations Armont Pecina, representing Rebuldela; and by TAU Vice President for Research, Extension and Training Edmar Franquera, along with TAU Director for Extension and Training Agnes Perey, on behalf of TAU President Silverio Ramon Salunson.
This partnership underscores a whole-of-government approach to delivering sustainable development and inclusive growth in Central Luzon, through a joint effort between the national government and the academe. (MJSC/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
