Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac assisted an agrarian reform beneficiary organization (ARBO) in the municipality of Ramos.
1st Progress Agricultural Cooperative benefited from the training on product upgrading, particularly on their chili sauce making.
DTI Trade-Industry Development Specialist Paolo Manese said the training, which is part of the agency’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, will potentially widen the market of the beneficiary’s existing product.
“We saw a potential in the cooperative’s sambal oelek, that is why we thought of upgrading it. With the group’s concerted effort, this may possibly become one of Tarlac’s notable products,” he said.
During the training, participants learned the process of enhancing their existing product, as well as the process of making a Pinoy-style chili paste.
Meanwhile, DTI also committed to continue assisting the cooperative through the services offered by Negosyo Center Ramos.
