TARLAC CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac conducted meat processing training for 39 youth and parents from Barangay Sta. Ines Centro, Santa Ignacia.
Organized through the Negosyo Center (NC) Santa Ignacia in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of the barangay, the activity aimed to promote livelihood opportunities and entrepreneurial skills at the grassroots level.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo highlighted the purpose of the training and its alignment with the agency’s business development objectives.
“One of the goals of DTI is to cultivate a mindset where practical skills can be converted into livelihood opportunities. This training serves as a seed that we hope to see flourish in every participant’s household,” she stated.
During the training, Business Counselor Kenneth Gabay demonstrated proper techniques for preparing tocino, longganisa, and siomai.
SK Chairperson Hartz Janry Ramos underscored the relevance of the activity, noting that such initiatives help uplift the quality of life in their community.
“Ang training sa DTI ay isang mahalagang tulong sa pagpapabuti ng pamumuhay ng aming mga kabarangay (The training from DTI is an important help in improving the livelihood of our fellow residents),” he said.
Ramos also expressed his gratitude to DTI for its ongoing support.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa DTI dahil sa kanila, may natutunan ang aking mga kabarangay para sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na kailangan at upang matutunan ang mga bagong teknik at pamamaraan upang makagawa ng mga bagong produkto (I am grateful to DTI because, through them, my fellow residents have learned something for their daily needs and have gained new techniques and methods to make new products),” he added.
The NC Santa Ignacia will continue to support participants as they utilize their newly acquired skills to start or enhance their livelihood activities.
