IBA, Zambales – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted a one-day competency training to enhance the skills and regulatory compliance of service and repair technicians in the province.

About 30 participants representing various service and repair establishments across the province attended the training.

DTI Zambales Provincial Director Enrique Tacbad said the activity supports the renewal of National Certificates and compliance with DTI’s Service and Repair Enterprises (SRE) Accreditation requirements.

“This initiative is crucial in maintaining the standards of our service and repair sector and ensuring our skilled workers remain certified and competitive,” he said.

Meanwhile, TESDA Zambales Provincial Director Leonardo Tabamo underscored the agency’s commitment to advancing technical education and workforce development.

The training was facilitated by TESDA trainers, who provided expert instruction based on current industry practices and standards.

This initiative forms part of the government’s broader efforts to strengthen the capacity of local technicians and mechanics while ensuring that establishments adhere to regulatory standards.

It also reflects the strong partnership between DTI and TESDA in delivering accessible, high-quality training for skilled workers in the province.

Through collaborative activities like this, DTI and TESDA aim to uplift the technical workforce, support industry compliance, and improve the quality of services in Zambales. (MJSC/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
