TARLAC CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in partnership with the Tarlac State University (TSU), conducted a learning session on Social Media Marketing and e-Commerce Platforms for the 20 members of Cabayaoasan Farmers Agricultural Cooperative (CFAC) in Paniqui, Tarlac.

The activity was implemented under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) to equip farmer-beneficiaries with the digital skills necessary to boost their market visibility and competitiveness.

TSU Office of Alumni Affairs Director Winston Abalos, who served as the resource speaker, discussed topics such as building a brand identity online, identifying the top social media sites in the Philippines, and maximizing e-commerce tools like Shopee and Tiktok.

DTI Trade-Industry Development Specialist Paolo Manese also emphasized the importance of digital platforms in expanding market presence, especially for small and emerging enterprises.

“The cooperative’s mushroom products are gradually gaining recognition in the local market.  To further expand their reach, they can explore selling their products online through social media and e-commerce platforms,” he noted.

CFAC Chairperson Rolly Salcedo expressed his gratitude on behalf of the group and underscored the significance of the training for their plans.

“We want to thank DTI-CARP for continuously assisting our cooperative.  This seminar is truly beneficial to our organization because we plan to sell our products online but we do not have enough knowledge and skills to do so,” he said.

DTI will regularly update the cooperative on e-commerce developments to ensure they remain informed and competitive in the digital marketplace. (MJSC/MAECR, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
