SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Zambales has partnered with Asian Vision to bring consumer education and entrepreneurship support closer to communities through digital and broadcast media.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed during the Consumer Welfare Month Provincial Culminating Activity held at Harbor Point, Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

DTI Zambales Consumer Protection Division Acting Chief Neil John Fabay said the initiative aims to strengthen consumer education, promote entrepreneurship, and support the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through effective information dissemination, making DTI’s programs and services more accessible to the public, especially in areas where face-to-face outreach is limited.

“This collaboration addresses the needs of consumers and MSMEs in remote areas by utilizing Asian Vision’s wide communication network. Through digital broadcasts, online platforms, and community channels, DTI’s educational campaigns, business advisories, and consumer protection updates can reach households and entrepreneurs even in far-flung barangays, ensuring that no one is left behind in the flow of information and opportunities,” he said.

Through this partnership, DTI Zambales seeks to empower both consumers and MSMEs with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed economic decisions and participate more actively in local development.

Under the agreement, DTI’s educational materials and pre-recorded programs will be aired through Asian Vision’s Olongapo Community Channel 120 and its online platforms.

The content will include practical information on consumer rights, fair trade, responsible business practices, and MSME development.

The flagship program, branded as “Trade Talks: Kasangga, Ka-Negosyo, Ka-Konsyumer,” will present a mix of educational and interactive segments.

It will feature success stories of MSMEs, highlight local innovations, and provide advisory content on product development, marketing, and digitalization to help small businesses become more competitive and consumer friendly.

Interactive segments such as “Tanong ni Konsyumer” will give viewers an avenue to raise questions and receive verified information from experts, encouraging active participation from the public in the discussion of consumer and business issues.

DTI Zambales emphasized that the partnership reflects the importance of public-private collaboration in empowering consumers and strengthening entrepreneurship across the province, aligning with the national goal of promoting fair trade, responsible business practices, and consumer protection through innovative communication strategies.
