CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE — President Rodrigo R. Duterte awarded Thursday housing units to 35 Wounded-In-Action (WIA) soldiers and 15 Wounded-In-Police-Operations (WIPO) at Pleasant View Residences in barangay Graceville.
“I am glad to join you as we celebrate the heroism and bravery of our WIA soldiers and WIPO officers who have risked their safety in order to fulfill their duty to protect our people and defend our democratic institutions,” Duterte said.

Each beneficiary received two-24 square meter residential units.
“These housing units that we turnover to deserving recipients is a testament to this administration’s resolve to provide our uniformed personnel and their families not only a just and decent shelter, but also with a home where they can build their dreams and chart a brighter future,” he stressed.
“May the housing units awarded help you start anew as you build your family’s future in this community. On behalf of a grateful nation, us, I thank you for your valor and love of country,” Duterte added.
Aside from the soldiers and police, the rest of the 1,788 housing units were given to the city’s beneficiaries and informal settlers.
