Incumbent City Mayor Edwin Santiago and his team ‘I Love San Fernando’ will file their certificates of candidacy at the city’s Commission on Elections office today, Oct. 17.
Santiago, seeking re-election, will run against Dolores Barangay Chair Vilma Caluag.
Santiago said ‘I Love San Fernando’ is a “formidable” team which is focused on the principle of “love and respect.” The team will run under the Kambilan Party.
During a press conference, Santiago presented his slate led by his runningmate re-electionist Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin and re-electionist councilors Ato Agustin, Celestino Dizon, Rufino Dumlao, Reden Halili, Nelson Lingat, Benedict Jasper Lagman and Harvey Quiwa, and comebacking councillor lawyer Raul Macalino, plus incumbent village chiefs Ariel “Buboy” Carreon of San Felipe and Tina Lagman of Saguin.
During the flag ceremony, Santiago launched ‘I Love San Fernando’ team and introduced his complete slate to the public.
He and the “I love San Fernando” team consider themselves “applicants” for the posts they are seeking which is to serve Fernandinos and continue to protect the city’s culture of service and good governance.
