CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – At least eight elderlies received P100,000 each from the provincial government of Pampanga during the distribution of cash incentives held at the Governor’s Office recently.
Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally handed the eight checks amounting to P800,000 to the beneficiaries as she wants them to feel, experience and share the love, care and assistance of the provincial government.
The distribution is based on the Senior Citizens Code or Ordinance No. 647
that previously covers those who reach 100-year-old, which has been amended by the Provincial Board (PB) to 95-year-old natural born Kapampangans as eligible beneficiaries.
The elderlies who received the incentive were Angel Manalili, 96 years old (Remedios, Lubao); Paula Sadsad, 97, (San Juan, Lubao); Tiofista Banting, 97, (Sta. Catalina, Lubao); Pastor Valencia, 96, (San Basilio, Sta. Rita); Maria Pamintuan, 96, (Cabalantian, Bacolor); Erlinda Rodriguez, 96, (Sto. Rosario, City of San Fernando); Crisanta Hernandez, 96, (Paralaya, Candaba); and Marcelina Sibug, 96, (San Agustin, Candaba).
Records from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office show that more than 300 elderlies received the cash incentive from the provincial government since the enactment of the ordinance.
During the distribution, the governor was assisted by Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon, PSWD Officer Elizabeth Baybayan, Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab, former Sta. Rita Mayor Yolanda Pineda, Executive Secretary Edna Vitug, and staff from the Provincial Treasurers Office. –LIEZEL CAYANAN/PIO
