MANILA, Philippines – Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia has announced that the legendary OPM band is officially active again.
Speaking at a talkback panel after the special advanced screening of Eraserheads: Combo on the Run, the 54-year-old musician put an end to speculation about another farewell. “By this time I think, tama na yung reunion-reunion na yan, wala nang huling-huling El Bimbo, we’re here to stay… Until we decide to break up again, that is,” Buendia said.
During the film’s official press conference, Buendia also reflected on how the documentary contributed to the band’s healing process. “It was the right time because we can only converge and do something creative… It’s a huge undertaking to get the guys together,” he shared. He also noted that unlike their last film Run Barbi Run, which was a “letdown” for personal reasons, this documentary offers “a lot of positive things” for the band’s future.
