Farmers’ group benefit from CDC’s seedling dispersal program

CLARK FREEPORT— More than 1,000 farmers from two provinces in Central Luzon benefited from the seedling dispersal program organized by Clark Development Corporation (CDC).

In the program dubbed as “Gulayan sa Bakuran Tulong sa Kabuhayan at Kalusugan,” CDC was able to disperse more than 64,000 assorted seedlings distributed to various farmers associations in the provinces of Pampanga and Tarlac.

In the report submitted by External Affairs Department to CDC President-CEO Noel F. Manankil, beneficiaries of the program were Carisucas Farmers who received 30 trays of seedlings, Anupul Farmers Association with 20 trays while San Roque Farmer’s Bitas and Concepcion Farmers Association both received 25 trays of seedlings.

Municipalities of Capas, Bamban in Taralac; and Porac including Angeles City and Mabalacat City in Pampanga also received 25 trays of seedlings.

Five selected partner schools in Pampanga were also given 10 trays of seedlings each for their ‘Gulayan sa Paaralan’ project— a similar program of CDC.

The distributed trays contained 128 seedlings each composed of hot pepper, siling panigang and eggplant seedlings.

The seedling dispersal program, introduced in 2014, is part of CDC’s continuing Corporate Social Responsibility effort to uplift the lives of the nearby communities here. This also serves as an annual agricultural livelihood project for farmers and selected beneficiaries.

CDC Vice President for Corporate Service Atty. Perlita Sagmit said that the state-owned firm will continue to extend assistance to communities, especially to farmers’ group in the surrounding areas in Clark.
