February 4 declared “West Bajac Bajac Day” in recognition of late Capitan Noli Capistrano

West Bajac Bajac, Olongapo City — February 4 of every year has been officially declared as “West Bajac Bajac Day,” pursuant to Ordinance No. 3, Series of 2025, approved by the Barangay Council on April 21, 2025.

The historic ordinance was authored by Kagawad Milbert Adlawan in recognition of the late Barangay Captain Napoleon “Noli” F. Capistrano — an exemplary leader who left a deep mark of concern and dedication for the people of West Bajac Bajac.

According to Barangay Captain Hon. Billy Capistrano, grandson of the late Captain Noli, his family is very grateful for this recognition.

“It is a great honor for our family to have my grandfather Captain Noli recorded as part of the history of the barangay. Many thanks to Kagawad Adlawan and the entire council for their unity in this ordinance,” said Captain Billy.

The first celebration of West Bajac Bajac Day will begin on February 4, 2026, featuring colorful activities such as a Mardi Gras-inspired parade, competitions for youth and families, cultural performances, and various community programs.

The annual celebration aims to pay tribute to the history of the barangay, recognize its leaders, and above all, strengthen the spirit of unity and cooperation among each citizen. This is also a step to pass on the rich culture and local heroism to the next generation.

“West Bajac Bajac Day” will be a symbol of hope, recognition, and continued progress — ideals fought for by the pillars of the barangay, like Captain Noli Capistrano.
