Authorities arrested a known armed suspect, alias “Baby Ambo,” and seized a cache of firearms during a search operation in Barangay San Mateo, Arayat, Pampanga, on Tuesday, April 9.
The joint police operation was carried out by the Pampanga Provincial Intelligence Unit, along with multiple regional and local police units. Recovered from the suspect’s residence were an M16 COLT rifle, a rifle grenade, magazines, assorted live ammunition, camouflage gear, and bladed weapons. Police said the operation was in line with efforts to crack down on illegal firearms and armed criminality across the province.
“We reiterate our commitment to intensifying our campaign against loose firearms,” said Pampanga police director PCOL Jay Dimaandal. “Let this be a warning to those who continue to operate outside the bounds of the law.”
