Former Bataan PNP PD, one of Duterte’s 4 new police generals

QUEZON CITY – President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the promotion of four senior police officials into one-star police generals.

PNP Chief, Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan’s personnel led and witnessed the donning of ranks of four police generals on Friday, September 25 at the PNP Star Officers’ Lounge, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame.

Promoted and donned into one-star rank (Police Brigadier General) were: Police Brigadier General Harold Tuzon – Office of the Chief Directorial Staff; Police Brigadier General Wilfredo Pornillos – Directorate for Plans; Police Brigadier General Benjamin Silo Jr. – Office of the Chief, PNP and Police Brigadier General Alexander Tagum – Office of the Chief, PNP.

Silo also served as chief of police of Orion, Abucay, Mariveles and Balanga City.
He also became the chief for investigation of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Camp Crame from 2012 to 2014.

In June 2014 to November 2015, he became the regional chief of CIDG Bicol region before he assumed office as CIDG regional chief for Central Luzon.

He also served as the Provincial Director of Bataan Police Provincial Office and later transferred to Northern Police District as Deputy District Director for Administration.

During his reign as Bataan Police Director in 2016, Bataan was declared as the first “drug-cleared” province, three months ahead of the national government’s target date.

Also a lawyer, Atty. Silo passed the bar exam in 2007.

Meanwhile, Cascolan explained that in the coming weeks, more police officials are expected to be elevated to new posts and promoted as more senior officials are set to retire from their decades-stint in police service.
