A former call center agent who presented himself as a project holder at the state-run Clark Development Corporation was arrested for extortion in an entrapment in Angeles City.
Region 3 CIDG chief Col. Norberto Delmas identified the suspect as Carli Pe, 51, of Bgy. Mabiga, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.
Agents of Angeles City CIDG nabbed the suspect based on a complaint by Gennievive Austria, 35, executive secretary of Baguio-based JJJ-A Construction and Supply and resident of Blk. 51, Fresno Residences in Angeles City.
Austria told police that Pe introduced himself as a project holder affiliated with the Clark Development Corporation and if the victim will pay him money their company will win in the bidding.
However, after the victim allegedly paid Pe she found out the suspect was not connected with CDC.
When the suspect asked for another payment, the victim sought assistance from the CIDG, who launched an entrapment that led to the arrest of Pe inside a fastfood chain in Angeles City.
Delmas said the suspect will be charged with violation of Article 293 of Art. 294 or robbery-extortion.
