Freedom March 2025 set in Bataan

BATAAN, Philippines – Walk in the footsteps of history on March 1 and 2 during the annual Freedom March 2025, a commemorative event that retraces the infamous route of the Bataan Death March.

Organized by Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) in partnership with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO), Department of National Defense (DND), and local governments of Bataan, Pampanga, and Tarlac, the event aims to honor World War II heroes and educate participants about their sacrifice.

The march begins at Kilometer Zero in Mariveles Park, Bataan, on March 1 at 12:01 AM. Participants will traverse key historical points along the Death March route, including Plaza Balanga, Dinalupihan First Line of Defense, and Capitol Building in San Fernando, Pampanga, before taking a bus to Clarkfield for stops at the American Cemetery and Field Artillery Memorial.

The final leg starts at People’s Park, Capas, and culminates in a closing ceremony at the Capas Death March Memorial at 6:30 PM on March 2.

The march offers a unique opportunity for fellowship and reflection as participants retrace the 102-kilometer journey of World War II prisoners of war.
