DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has opened the country’s first Senior High School Information Hub (iHub) in this first-class municipality on Friday.
Garcia was joined by Department of Education (DepEd) officials led by Dr. Jesse Ferrer, Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Boyet Castaneda (representing Cong. Geraldine Roman) other concerned agencies, teachers, students and visitors.
“We gave them 50 high-tech computer sets complete with electronic board and speech lab and other gadgets for our senior high school students who chose information technology as their future career. This project will help them to be fully equipped with the right knowledge and experience actual training by using the actual applications,” Garcia told the local media in a press briefing last Saturday.
Garcia added that aside from computer sets, a computer lab building was also built for this iHub project along with other tracks.
Way back in 2009, former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo launched a component of the province-wide Information Hub (iHub) project in Mariveles National High School-Poblacion.
The Poblacion-based high school is one of 14 public high schools in the second district of Bataan covered by the P14.6-million project initiated by then Bataan Rep. Albert Garcia here five hundred computer units, which include computer laptops with LCD monitor, wi-fi routers and printers were distributed to the 14 high schools.
At present, Governor Garcia assured that all public high schools in Bataan with senior high school students will have their own iHubs.
“Nasa 1Bataan Command Centers na ang mga computers. I-schedule na lang ang distributions,” Garcia added.
Each public high school within the province will be receiving 50 computer sets along with other related gadgets. – MHIKE R. CIGARAL
