Global names now in Clark

A world-class, global lodging brand with a heart for the local communities is opening in Clark on September 14, 2018.

With impressive 260 elegant rooms spread over 17 floors, the new Clark Marriott Hotel (CMH) is a structure to behold in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Clark Marriott Hotel is the latest addition to the estimated 6,500 properties of Marriott International, Inc. across 127 countries and territories around the globe.

Marriott is better known for incorporating the identity of the communities where its hotels are located, while at the same time maintaining its superior quality of service and international standards.

As for the Clark Marriott Hotel, the Pampanga press is fortunate enough to have an advance peek of the hotel’s facilities and amenities recently. Thanks to Charley Magabo, CMH’s director of sales and marketing, and his team – Jayvie Dizon, marketing communications manager, and Amira Salta, sales and catering executive.

The hotel’s Executive Lounge at the 15th floor has an excellent view of Clark’s green landscape, as well as the scenery of Angeles City and Porac’s mountain ranges in the west.

Its spacious halls, extraordinary high ceilings and classy walls painted in earth colors elicit a feeling of warmth and comfort. It has three restaurants and one coffee shop that are best for business, leisure or family meetings. These are The Lounge, Goji Kitchen Bar, Smoki MOTO and the Urban Coffee.

And for Kapampangans, the must-see feature of Clark Marriott Hotel is the huge art installation where the folksong “Atin ku pung Singsing” is both inscribed in the ancient Kapampangan script “Kulitan” and in the current writing. The wall pieces can be viewed at the ground floor near the hotel’s convention hall.

The hotel’s architecture is equally impressive because of the incorporation of Pampanga’s giant lantern in most of its design and materials including the accents for the rooms, the carpets and the walls.

It is indeed such a joy to see a global company adopting our local culture and integrating the ideas with a twist of freshness and sophistication.

The people of Pampanga and Clark’s environs are truly blessed because everything global gravitates to their midst, so it is only logical to enjoy this and grab the opportunity to be the first in experiencing everything.

A global leader for a global city! This is what Angeles City needs. There are three mayoralty candidates bidding for mayor of Angeles in the 2019 elections. The incumbent vice mayor, Atty. Bryan Nepomuceno, current Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) President Alex Cauguiran and incumbent City Councilor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr.

Who among them deserves to be elected? The Angeles voters are more intelligent now, as they look for a leader who can efficiently run the city. Someone who has the highest capacity to elevate the city’s performance at par with the most active and progressive cities in the world.

Angeles City is one of the host cities of Clark Freeport Zone and everything is anchored on the economic development brought by Clark airport. The international names and global leaders are coming to Clark and Angeles City is expected to share the burden of social costs. Its leaders are expected to have the knowledge, the training, the acumen and the vision to lead the city towards global competitiveness.

Among the three candidates, Cauguiran has the exposure and training in the aviation business but Nepomuceno and Lazatin have the support of their political and corporate families. Although, Lazatin has an advantage as far as realizing developments for Angeles city. He has the full support of his brother Rep. Carmelo “Jon-Jon” Lazatin II of Pampanga 1st District. Both can work hand-in-hand in advocating and sponsoring infrastructure projects to augment the impact of development in the Metro Clark area. Just saying. (###)
