Mariveles, Bataan – GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) Unit 2 achieved yet another feat as it breaks its record of 79 continuous days of operations after banking 100 days as of July 7, 2023.
GNPD affirmed that since the unit’s last synch date on March 31, 2023, the team has now reported 100 days (about 3 and a half months) of continuous running operations, and 85-unit days without derations and steam cooler repairs.
As the largest coal-fired power plant in the Philippinesin terms of capacity, supplying 1,668 MW to the Luzon Grid, with around 30 distribution utility and two retail electricity suppliers’ secured contracts, this remarkable feat is essential in upholding GNPD’s commitment to empowering progress by delivering efficient energy to its distributors and customers.
UNIT 1 of the project has been generating power since March 2021 and went on commercial operation on December 2, 2021.
Unit 2 successfully synchronized to the grid on April 23, 2022, and on May 27, 2022, it started to operate at its full-load capacity.
