Gonzales family to seek power in Pampanga district

As Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. prepares to step down from his Pampanga 3rd District congressional seat next year, his family is poised to carry on the political legacy. On October 7, his wife, My-my Mercado-Gonzales, officially filed her Certificate of Candidacy for board member of Pampanga’s 3rd District.

She is not alone in her ambitions; incumbent board member Alyssa Michaela Gonzales has also submitted her COC for the seat her father is vacating. Meanwhile, sitting city councilor Aurelio “Brenz” Gonzales is eyeing the vice mayoralty position in the city.

This strategic alignment within the Gonzales family underscores their commitment to maintaining influence in local politics, as they prepare to navigate the 2025 election landscape. With strong family ties and a shared vision, the Gonzales clan is ready to make its mark in the upcoming political contest.
