BALANGA CITY – Bataan Governor Albert Raymond “Abet” S. Garcia on Tuesday afternoon joined Hermosa Mayor Antonio Joseph R. Inton in the mass oath taking of newly-elected Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials from 23 barangays or villages.
Gov. Garcia officiated the formal rites for both SK chairpersons, village chiefs and councilors.
In his message, Mayor Inton urged all elected officials to do their job properly as public servants to meet their constituents’ needed services.
“Kailangan nagtatrabaho tayo lahat. Kailangan masipag tayo lahat. Kailangan lagi tayong handa sa pagtulong sa ating mga kababayan,” Inton told them.
Mayor Inton assures Governor Garcia that majority of his town’s village officials down to the youth sector represented by SK officials fully support all the provincial government’s programs for the continuous progress of the Province.
Meanwhile, Governor Garcia advised the said officials specially the first-timers in politics to be ready for public scrutiny citing the power of the traditional media and the much stronger social media in exposing their wrongdoings, etc.
“Sobrang tapang ng media ngayon at mas matapang ang social media. Pahigpit din nang pahigpit ang COA (Commission on Audit). Kailangan natin sumunod sa mga tamang proseso sa paggastos sa ating mga pondo,” Gov. Garcia said.
