Government extends aid to Bacolor vulnerable sector

BACOLOR, Pampanga – The provincial government of Pampanga, led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, partnered with the local government of Bacolor to distribute aid to vulnerable sectors on January 28, 2025. Bacolor officials, headed by Mayor Diman Datu and Vice Mayor Ron Dungca, joined the initiative to provide much-needed support to residents affected by recent crises.

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go personally attended the event, expressing his support for struggling micro-business owners and individuals in need. A total of 1,400 beneficiaries received government assistance, including 1,200 individuals who were provided essential goods and 210 recipients who benefited from livelihood aid through the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program.

DTI Pampanga Provincial Office awarded at least 10 types of PPG Livelihood Kits, benefiting small entrepreneurs across various industries. Among the awarded kits were support for water refilling stations, mobile food wagons, carinderia services, rice retailing, hydroponics farming, tailoring, and bakery businesses. These initiatives aim to help business owners recover and sustain their livelihoods.

Senator Go’s office also provided additional assistance, distributing food packs, snacks, shirts, pamaypay (hand fans), and sports equipment, including basketballs and volleyballs, to the beneficiaries. The initiative was part of the senator’s ongoing commitment to grassroots support and economic recovery.

Governor Pineda emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between the national and local governments in uplifting communities. He assured that the provincial government remains committed to implementing sustainable programs that will provide long-term economic opportunities for residents.

The distribution of aid and livelihood packages is expected to bolster small businesses in Bacolor and the wider Pampanga province, reinforcing government efforts to drive economic recovery and resilience at the community level.
