PAMPANGA – Governor Dennis “Nanay” Pineda and the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) dispatched heavy equipment to clear piles of garbage that clogged the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) floodgate at Matubig Creek in Barangay San Agustin, Sta. Ana, which caused the collapse of an earth dike.

A wheel-type backhoe was immediately deployed to remove the debris, reportedly washed down from Arayat. Another long-arm backhoe was sent to clear the opposite side of the creek.

The PDRRMC team also conducted cleanup operations at Sitio Mauli Delta in Barangay San Pablo.
