SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Wednesday said that the government has allotted ten billion pesos for the tourism project in Candelaria, Zambales under the Build, Build, Build program of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
“Mayroon tayong P10 billion project dito sa Candelaria. Sa mineral-rich town ng province natin. Soon that will be implemented na po,” Go said in an ambush interview.
(We have a P10 billion project here in Candelaria, in the mineral-rich town in the province, soon it will be implemented.)
Candelaria, Zambales is a tiny mineral-rich town located in the northern part of the province.
The ongoing project of the Duterte administration is called Uacon Lake Resort Complex (ULRCP).
The ULRCP is one of the flagship tourism projects under the Duterte administration’s Build, Build, Build program that started in July.
Meanwhile, Go said that the closure of small-scale minings in Zambales will also take place if proven to operate without permits.
“Kung bawal po ay dapat ipasara ‘yan. Trabaho po ng DENR ‘yan, MGB, so papatignan natin kung may mga illegal, small-scale miners po na nagooperate ng walang permit ,” Go said.
(If it is illegal, then it must be closed. DENR [Department of Environment and Natural Resources], MGB [Mines and Geosciences Bureau], we will have it checked if there are illegal, small-scale miners that operate even without permit.)
Go also extended his sincerest gratitude to his supporters during his visit in the city.
“Karamihan po sa kanila ay mga supporters rin po ni Pangulong Duterte, at ako’y nagpapasalamat sa kanila. Nakakataba ng puso ‘yung suporta na ipinapakita nila sa amin. Patuloy lang po kaming magtatrabaho, at magsisipag kami lalong magtrabaho sa nakikita naming suporta,” Go said.
(Most of my supporters are supporters of President Duterte as well, and I am very grateful. It is overwhelming to see the support they give us. We will work harder because of the support we see.)
SAP Bong Go also graced the opening of Zubakery Café Catering Division inside this Freeport. Actor Philip Salvador and Subic Town Mayor Jeff Khonghun joined Go in the said event along with other guests from the business sector and officials from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
Go, upon his arrival at the venue, was greeted by a group of supporters from Olongapo City urging him to run for a Senate seat.
