Hino Pampanga supports modernization of public transport

Hino Pampanga has rolled out 15 units of Class II Modern Jeepneys to the Paniqui Gerona Tarlac Transport Service Cooperative (PGT Transeco) on Saturday morning supporting the government’s efforts to modernize public transport system all over the country.

Hizon Auto Group EVP and COO Marco Hizon said Hino Pampanga is supporting the modernization of the public transport system. Hizon said the Filipino people deserves to have a better public transport system to replace the old dilapidated jeepneys.

“We have to face it, we deserve improvements. As we all know, yung ating mga jeepneys ay matagal na ito. Tayong mga Pilipino deserve naman nating mag improve, deserve natin na mas mayroong magandang mode of transportation,” according to Hizon.

“Sa Hong Kong wala naman tayong makikitang mga jeep, There are only two modes of transportation, it’s either the train or the buses,” said Hizon.

“Sinimulan na ngayong taon na ito (transport modernization), tuloy tuloy na ito. We are not saying that PUJs are not good but we deserve a better mode of transportation,” said Hizon.

The airconditioned Hino Class II Modern Jeepney has a seating capacity of 23 passengers with enough space to observe social distancing as a health and safety protocol amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It also has a CCTV and modern amenities that ensure comfort of passengers.

“Ang kagandahan ng Hino Motors Philippines, hindi lang siya nagbebenta ng trucks, nagmamanufacture sila ng body. Kung may bagong linya naka coordinate yan sa LTFRB sapagkat alam nila na kailangan ito ng ating mga kababayan yan,” said Hizon.

Hizon said PGT Transeco is the third batch of cooperative that took delivery of Hino vehicles. The other cooperatives are in Macabebe and Masantol, both in Pampanga province.

Rest assured that Hino Motors will support the government’s plan to modernize public transport system,” said Hizon.

PGT Transeco President Abelardo Miguel Jr. said passengers in Tarlac will experience comfort with the Hino Class II Modern Jeepneys. They expect to ferry thousands of office workers and commuters from Paniqui and Gerona to Tarlac City. “Naranasan po kasi natin noon na kapag sumakay ka ng jeep kung puti ang damit mo magiging khaki (brown) na iyan. Ngayon aircon yan, kung ano ang itsura mo pagsakay mo pagbaba mo ganon pa rin.”

The PGT Transeco has 25 members. At least P29.4 million was shelled out for the purchase of the 15 units of Hino Class II Modern Jeepneys.

The distance between Paniqui and Tarlac City is around 24 kilometers. PGT Transeco will operate from 7am to 9pm everyday.
