A man on Tuesday accidentally shot dead a friend while they were hunting a wild boar in Mount Kapigpiglatan in San Narciso, Zambales.
San Narciso police chief Maj. Ronaldo Valenzuela identified the fatality as Renie Novilla, 36, and the suspect as his friend Edward Foronda, 54, both of Purok 1 in Bgy. Omaya, San Narciso.
The police were told the victim and suspect together with their friends were constructing a trail in the area when they decided to go hunting for wild boars.
Without the others’ knowledge, Foronda armed with a 12-gauge shotgum went ahead and hid in the bushes to wait for a wild boar.
When the suspect thought he saw a running wild boar, he fired a shot hitting Novilla who died on the spot.
The other friends informed the police, who arrested the suspect and confiscated the shotgun.
The suspect will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
The cops are conducting further investigation on the incident.
