Illegal tobacco facility shut down in Angeles

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has ordered the immediate closure of an unlicensed tobacco facility in Barangay Margot following a tip from Barangay Chairman Dominador Lising Jr. about suspicious activity in the area.

City authorities discovered the site operating without a business permit. A closure order was promptly issued by the city government.

The Angeles City Police Office has also launched a separate investigation into the facility’s operations.

No finished cigarette products were found during the inspection. According to the operator, the facility was only used for drying tobacco before transporting it to their main manufacturing site.
