CLARK AIR BASE, Pampanga — The Government of India turned over humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) supplies to the Philippines on January 20, 2026, with the Philippine Air Force (PAF) providing logistical and operational support at Clark Air Base.
The turnover was facilitated by the PAF’s Air Logistics Command (ALC), with the relief goods intended for families affected by recent typhoons in Cebu City.
ALC commander Major General Dennis G. Estrella, along with members of the Air Force City Council of Commanders, received Indian Ambassador to the Philippines Harsh Kumar Jain upon his arrival at Clark Air Base. The formal handover was conducted between the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), represented by Undersecretary Diana Rose S. Cajipe, and the Indian ambassador.
The Philippine Air Force assisted in the unloading and handling of the donated supplies, underscoring its role in supporting whole-of-government and international humanitarian initiatives.
In a statement, the PAF said the activity highlights the growing strategic partnership between India and the Philippines, particularly in disaster response and humanitarian cooperation.
The donation, the PAF added, symbolizes the deep friendship and solidarity between the two countries and reflects India’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance in the Indo-Pacific region.
