This just in: Honda is releasing an all-wheel-drive (AWD) pick-up truck and it’s ready to roll into the Philippines by September 13, 2017.
Honda is one the world’s largest motor-vehicle manufacturers and by the looks of things that have been driving out of their garage, they have no plans of letting go of that title any time soon.
Overview of the Ridgeline
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is a 280 horsepower (HP) pick-up truck with a 3.5 liter engine that has a 4-wheel independent suspension that supports the power and durability that this car provides. Honda is releasing four different versions of this truck to match the consumer’s needs: RT, RTS, Sport, and RTL.
Engine Specifications
The Ridgeline will be powered by a Honda-built V6 engine which translates to a total of six cylinders working to pump out monstrous power from the car. Honda has released cars with V6 engines in the past, mainly with a few C-Series and J-Series engines, but it is not every day that we see Honda releasing beasts like this. This engine pairs with a 7-pin tow hitch that is capable of pulling 5,000lbs on the ground.
Exterior
The Ridgeline will be made available in 2 colors: Modern Steel, and Lunar Silver, with other colors yet to be announced. In most pick-up trucks, the wheels always seem to take some space in the trunk bed, but that will not be a problem with the Ridgeline. Honda engineered a way to remove those wheel housings from the trunk bed to make sure that anything that needs to fit will fit. If the spacious trunk bed isn’t enough, lift the trunk bed open to find the lockable chest built inside the bed for more space or maybe even use as a cooler to take advantage of the drain plug that’s in the chest. For those that love the outdoors, let the Ridgeline make you feel at home with the 150W/400W built-in outlet in the wall of the trunk and plug in a TV or an audio system in where you can play the sound through the trunk bed audio system that the car provides.
Comfort and Luxury
Hopefully the exterior technology hasn’t overwhelmed you yet. The 2017 Ridgeline is equipped with ride comfort, as well as cutting-edge technology. With any version you decide to get, you get a full leather experience from the seats all the way to you shift knob. The air conditioning in any car always seems to make all the leather freezing cold. The truck features heated seats as well as a heated steering wheel. If you decide to let in fresh air instead, keep your windows down as well as the one-touch sun roof above your head. If the truck is shared by someone else in the family, then there is no need to worry because the driver seat comes with memory settings with two savable positions to make sure both drivers are in their most comfortable driving positions.
The Ridgeline is covered in protective cameras from the rear end, the sides, and all the way to the front of the car. It also comes with a blind spot sensor which will help you switch lanes more comfortably and safer. The rear camera is a multi-angle camera which means you can have a wide, normal, and a top-down view.
There is no question about the car’s practicality, comfort, or power. The 2017 Ridgeline has innumerable features and each one of the features is what makes this a safe, comfortable, powerful, and luxurious pick-up truck. With September being right around the corner, it could be time to start thinking of buying or replacing your current vehicle and start consulting your nearest Honda Motors shop. –By Kielo Tuazon/ AUF Intern
