International award giving body Asia Pacific Luminare Award bestowed to Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando and Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno the prestigious awards of “Most Influential Man of the Millennium” and “Best Public Servant of the Year” at the 3rd Asia Pacific Luminare Awards (APLA) 2020 held at Grand Ballroom Vivere Hotel in Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City on Thursday night.
Fernando and Moreno are just some of the Luminare’s 65 awardees in the year 2020 from various categories such as politics, corporate heroes, industry titans in private / public and advocates of planet and people, according to Prince Danel Calo, Luminare Spokesperson.
Although Mayor Moreno did not arrive, he expressed his gratitude to all who made up the award giving body, Calo said.
For his part, Fernando said..“Such honor and recognition for our sacrifices as public servant are truly heartening and overwhelming. This is what inspires us to improve more our service. I offer these awards to my mother, family, Bulakenyos and employees of the Provincial Government of Bulacan.”
According to actor Jao Mapa, Co-Chairman of the APLA Award Council, Philippines, the award giving body is an organization that seeks and recognizes the accomplishments of the best individual persons and companies throughout Asia including Industry Titans from private or public, corporate heroes and advocates of planet and people.
Luminare according to him, one of the organizers and an actor is someone who has achieved success and excelled in his respected field.
“Most of the time it is only those who make the most contribution, who shine brightest and who get recognized, in Luminare awards, we believe that there are people who have contributed to the enrichment of the lives of others and now it is their time to shine,” Mapa said.
Among the recipients of the award were celebrities Robi Domingo, Jason Abalos, Kyline Alcantara, Miguel Tanfelix, Miriam Quiambao-Roberto. 93-year-old Vice Mayor Juan Azcuna Po of Jasaan, Misamis Oriental was also present and public service awardee.
The APLA aims to encourage individual people to recognize their own accomplishments or contributions to the country so that they can be nurtured and be a source of inspiration for others.
With the theme ‘Building a happier and safer home’, the awarding ceremony held a charity dinner where proceeds will be used to build more houses for homeless children specifically to the Village of Hope.
Calo said APLA is sponsored by international firms from Vietnam which supports and shelters over 40 children from the Village of Hope Philippines in Bohol City.
