MANILA – The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting the Visayas and Mindanao will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over these islands, as well as the Bicol region, Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon, the weather bureau said Wednesday.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
Weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
It was last eyed at 1,740 km. northeast of extreme northern Luzon.
“It is possible that it would enter PAR, but would not affect any part of the country due to the possibility that it would weaken into a low-pressure area once it enters PAR,” Bulquerin said.
Meanwhile, moderate winds and moderate seas will prevail over Luzon.Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
