JDN & Sons Inc. goes solar with AlphaSolar

AlphaSolar has officially completed the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) milestones for multiple solar projects in collaboration with Juan D. Nepomuceno & Sons Inc. The formal handover of EPC records took place on November 11, 2024, at the JDN Board Room, Entec 1 Bldg., Nepo Quad, Angeles City, marking a significant step forward in their shared commitment to renewable energy.

The event was attended by JDN Chairman Arni N. Valdes, President Rick N. Wilkerson, Chief Facilities Management Officer Noel N. Valdes, Vice President/COO Aaron Jeffrey Montenegro, and AlphaSolar Managing Director Tito Maglaqui with CEO Gabriel Ian Maglaqui, alongside representatives from sponsors Huawei, Trinasolar, and Brills Solar Solutions.

Wilkerson expressed his satisfaction with AlphaSolar’s services, stating, “The JDN & Sons Inc. has decided to switch to solar energy and tap the expertise of AlphaSolar because it has been tried and tested personally by me and my cousins Arni and his siblings for our personal use. Based on our experience, it’s really effective and reliable. We are satisfied especially with the after-sales service. It has the track record on quality, value, speed, and service. Our current budget for utility payments is in the millions, and we intend to utilize the savings generated from solar power for other JDN projects. I will definitely recommend this to other residential and business sectors because AlphaSolar is reliable.”

On his part, AlphaSolar Managing Director Tito Maglaqui expressed his deepest appreciation to JDN & Sons Inc., noting the company’s focus on Central Luzon and Pampanga, adding, “We are truly grateful to JDN & Sons for their trust and confidence; patience is indeed a virtue. As one of the pioneers in the solar energy sector in the Philippines, we have prioritized new technologies and innovations since 2011 to accelerate our country’s transition to renewable energy. As a local brand in Pampanga, AlphaSolar is motivated to focus on our Cabalens, the Central Luzon region, and beyond. There is now ample data on households transitioning to solar power in the Philippines, particularly in Region 3 and Pampanga, thanks to the benefits of renewable energy. This drives AlphaSolar to undertake further initiatives to promote clean energy adoption and foster broader sustainability commitments.”

AlphaSolar CEO Gabriel Ian Maglaqui highlighted the cost-saving benefits of solar energy, particularly given fluctuating energy prices, saying, “In light of the fluctuating energy market, it’s practical and cost-effective to invest in solar power. Households and commercial establishments that switch to solar can save 30 to 35 percent. Rebate programs or services are also available through net metering for households and for businesses like JDN. In the next two to three years, JDN is poised to fully realize the benefits of these projects.”
