Former athlete and now senior citizen Fabian Magpayo Jr. knows the importance of staying healthy. But after being diagnosed with diabetes, he now relies on maintenance medicines to manage his condition. For Magpayo, the assistance from the Pampanga provincial government has been a big help.
“Gov Delta and Nanay Vice Gov’s support is a huge relief for seniors like me who need medication,” he said. Magpayo was among the beneficiaries of Kapitolyo sa Barangay, a program led by Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda and Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, which recently brought essential services to residents of San Pedro and Sta. Lucia Poblacion in Sasmuan.
Beyond medical assistance, the program also provided food and cash aid to 1,782 residents. Various provincial offices, including the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), and General Services Office (GSO), worked together to distribute the assistance.
Board Members Jun Canlas, Fritzie David-Dizon, Sajid Eusoof, and Atty. Claire Lim joined the initiative, along with Special Assistant to the Governor Angelina Blanco, PSWD Officer Fe Manarang, and Sasmuan Mayor Lina Cabrera. Their presence underscored the local government’s commitment to supporting communities in need.
Through Kapitolyo sa Barangay, the Pampanga government continues to extend aid directly to its citizens, ensuring that seniors like Magpayo receive the help they need to live healthier and more secure lives.
