Lapid to turn over sports arena to Angeles LGU

ANGELES CITY, Philippines — Senator Lito Lapid is set to turn over the newly constructed Lapid Sports Arena in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, during the campaign sortie of Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday, April 23.

The 5,000-seater arena, built on a 6,000-square-meter lot donated by the Lazatin family, stands on the former site of the Gabay Diwa Rehabilitation Center. Lapid initiated the project, which aims to provide Kapampangans with a modern venue for sports and community events.

Aside from the arena, Lapid also pushed for the construction of the Porac-Angeles Flyover in Barangay Cutcut, a key infrastructure project to help ease traffic in the growing city.

Lapid, now serving his fourth term in the Senate, remains a political mainstay in Pampanga. He previously served as vice governor and later governor of the province.

Known for his action-star persona, Lapid gained fame in the Filipino Western film series Leon Guerrero and currently appears in the primetime television series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

Lapid continues to enjoy strong support from the masses, consistently ranking in the top three of recent senatorial.
