ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr. wants to enhance the Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD) system, pushing for a one-day issuance of business permits here.
This is in contrast to the request of the Sangguniang Panglungsod, directing the BPLD to process permits in three days.
“We can do it one day,” the Mayor said. “The BPLD is capable to issue permit in a day’s time.”
Vangie Malonzo, BPLD head, said papers, when complete, can be processed within 25 minutes.
“Basta kumpleto ang requirements at wala silang violation, matatapos agad ang proseso,” she furthered.
The BPLD Head also mentioned that the maximum Standard Processing Time for a new client is 1-2 days, while renewal takes one day.
She also stressed that the delay of paperwork will depend upon the client. “For example, sa payment, dahil hindi sila nakakapagbayad agad, babalik-balik sila hanggang sa matagalan. O kaya naman may violation,” she said.
Moreover, if there is a violation, the City Government will give them 30 days to comply. If there is no compliance, further appropriate action will be imposed.
Meanwhile, Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas, also CIO-ICTD last 2002, shared that during Mayor Tarzan Lazatin’s stint, this has already been practiced in Angeles, which was also ISO 9000:2001 certified.# –LDF
