In a bid to support the agricultural and fishing sectors, Mayor AJ Concepcion of Mariveles has announced a new initiative providing free fuel subsidies, fertilizers, and hybrid seeds to the town’s fisherfolk and farmers.
This program, which aligns with Mayor Concepcion’s platform of “Mariveles Muna, Mariveles Una,” is a collaborative effort involving the local government, the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). Through this initiative, eligible recipients will receive resources aimed at alleviating rising operational costs and enhancing productivity in both the fishing and farming industries.
The fuel subsidy aims to help local fisherfolk cope with increased fuel prices, a major expense in their daily operations. Meanwhile, the provision of fertilizers and hybrid seeds is expected to improve crop yields for farmers, ensuring food security and boosting the local economy.
Mayor Concepcion’s announcement emphasizes his administration’s commitment to uplifting Mariveles’ agricultural sector and improving the livelihoods of its residents. “Sama-sama tayo sa kaunlaran,” he said, calling on the community to unite for development.
The program is part of broader provincial initiatives like #1Bataan, #YesMariveles, and #TatakKuyaAJ, which prioritize support for agriculture and fisheries in the province.
