The local government of San Fernando, thru the City Social Welfare and Development Office, distributed cash aid to about 2,250 residents here on Wednesday.
Some 750 members of the local Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) and 1,500 qualified senior citizens benefited from the cash assistance as part of the City’s efforts to mitigate the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Local 4P’s members receive P2,000 worth of cash assistance while the indigent and bedridden elderly received P1,500 worth of cash aid under the local social pension payout (Socpen).
These social activities resonate with Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago’s advocacy to extend help to the less advantaged groups and improve their living conditions.
The CSWD will also distribute cash assistance to different sectoral leaders on February 05-06, dubbed as “Wagas Pasasalamat; Intersectoral Synergy for Community Development.”
