Mabalacat City — Lolita Carbon of ASIN Band, local folk singers and artists of Mabalacat City gathered last Tuesday, October 11 at the Old Municipio to pay homage to the legacy of the late Ysagani Ybarra.
Ybarra whose real name is Rodolfo Siegfried Tiglao Ranada died on September 2, 2022 at the age of 71.
He was behind the hit songs “Biyaheng Langit” sang by folk rock icon Lolita Carbon of Asin and “Bilog Na Naman Ang Buwan” which was popularized by Filipino band Tropical Depression.
“Ysagani Ybarra was a frequent guest performer in CKS programs and projects, including a cameo appearance in the HAU film Aria,” Holy Angel University – Center for Kapampangan Studies Director Robby Tantingco said.
The event is co-sponsored by the City Tourism Office here and Holy Angel University Center- CKS, and will be hosted by fellow Mabalaqueño Cecile Yumul.
Among the Mabalaqueño performers were Roseller ‘Coony’ Romero, Theresa Romero, Guy Indra.Hilbero, Cris Calalang, Cecile Frias, Amor Sampana, Yanni and Janin, Ujun Pinat Magsino, Maela Jose and Benji Ranada. –Photos by Nelson Gonzales
