Lubao Mayor Esmeralda “Esmie” G. Pineda on Black Saturday (April 11) ordered the distribution of relief goods to 13 barangays.
Thirteen barangays received a total of 6,400 food packs. These are Balantacan (440); Calangain (630); Santiago (662); San Agustin (577); San Nicolas 1st (530); San Nicolas 2nd (352); Don Ignacio Dimson (800); San Vicente (332); Sta. Lucia (400); Sta. Maria (245); Sta. Rita (555); Sto. Cristo (168); and, Sto. Domingo (709).
Vice Mayor Jay B. Montemayor, Councilor Edgar Dabu and Liga ng mga Barangay president Rolan Sibug have already delivered some of the relief goods.
Mayor Pineda said distribution of relief goods will reach the most number of beneficiaries at the least amount of time.
She also reminded the relief operation team to observe social distancing. Stools were asked to be left out of the houses where the food packs will be placed by the delivery group.
The relief operation is expected to be completed in four to five days where more than 80 percent of households will be provided with the food to help residents amid the extended enhanced community quarantine.
The mayor said some 38,000 relief packs will be distributed.
“Gusto kasi natin na kapag nagbigay tayo, pangkalahatan na para maiwasan yung paulit-ulit sa iba habang hindi naman naaabutan ang iba. Para na rin minsanan lang ang pagpunta ng team natin sa barangay dahil nga binabawasan natin ang pagparoon at pagparito ng mga tao,” Pineda explained.
On Sunday, the relief operations will go to the coastal barangays.
The Lubao LGU relief operations augments the assistance coming from the barangay and the provincial government of Pampanga.
