City of San Fernando — The Municipal Nutrition Committee (MNC) of Local Government of Lubao was adjudged as ‘Most Outstanding MNC’ by the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) of the provincial government of Pampanga.
Rustica Butiu, PNC head said the awarding, held yesterday at the Benigno Hall of the Provincial Capitol is part of the Nutrition Month Celebration culminating activity with a theme,’’ Ugaliing Magtanim, Sapat na Nutrisyon Aanihin’’.
Lubao MNC received P20, 000 in cash prizes. Sasmuan MNC as 1st runner-up got P15, 000. Guagua as second runner-up received P10, 000 while the MNCs of Mexico, Magalang, San Simon, Bacolor, Candaba and Arayat were given P5, 000 each as consolation prizes.
Rita L. Magsino was recognized as most outstanding nutrition action officer (MNAO) of Lubao MNC. She was given P15, 000 plus plaque of recognition while Nilo Paguio who received P10, 000 was conferred as Most Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS). The Barangay Nutrition Committee led by Village Chief Ramon Manacmul of Sto Cristo in Lubao town was recognized as Most Outstanding Barangay Nutrition Committee. They received P15, 000.
Second District Board Member Anthony Joseph Torres, chairperson of the committee on health stressed the importance of gaining knowledge on how to have a good nutrition because it is the foundation of a good health.
BM Torres also thanked Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda for the support to the Kabalens when it comes to promoting health care in the whole province.
It was learned that the winners were chosen based on the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation of 2017, Nutrition Program (MELLPI).
She also said that cash prizes were given as incentives to winners that will be used as funds for their project implementation in the future. –AIDA B. BUNGUE
