
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino led the planting of 100 balacat trees and 200 fruit-bearing trees in Sitio Malupa, Barangay Calumpang, as part of the city’s celebration of Arbor Day 2025.

The activity, held in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) led by Engr. Jesusa Santiago and the City Agriculture Office, carried the theme “Buhay ang kagubatan: Aksyon ng mamamayan, tugon sa kalikasan.”


In his message, Mayor Aquino emphasized the importance of sustainability in development. “Economic growth comes with environment preservation, so we have to do our part,” he said.


The tree planting drew participation from city officials including Councilors Vicoy Ong and Patricia Acorda, Police Lt. Col. Efren David, and the barangay council of Calumpang.

Private sector and civil society partners also joined the initiative, including Park Inn, NU Clark, Citicore, TECO locators, the Philippine Air Force, JCI, SMX, and the PNP Clark K9 Unit.
The event highlighted the city’s ongoing commitment to environmental conservation and citizen-driven action for climate resilience.
