MABALACAT, Pampanga – A newly constructed P23-million overpass in Dau remains unused, drawing criticism from netizens who questioned its placement and alleged overpricing. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 3 completed the project, but locals argue that it was built in a low-traffic area instead of a more strategic location like Dau Elementary School.
Social media users slammed DPWH Central Luzon, calling the bridge a waste of public funds. “Dapat nilagay iyan sa tapat ng Dau Elementary School, hindi diyan na wala naman masyadong tao. Sayang lang ang pera,” observed resident Robert Santos. Despite the backlash, DPWH has yet to respond to concerns about the project’s location and cost.
