MACCII launches Abacan River rehabilitation program

ANGELES CITY, Philippines — In celebration of World Earth Day 2025, the Metro Angeles Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MACCII) formally launched the ABACAN Program, a multi-sectoral initiative focused on rehabilitating the Abacan River through sustainable and community-driven environmental action.

The event, held on April 22 along the banks of the Abacan River, featured the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between MACCII, Balibago Waterworks System, Inc. (BWSI), and the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council, Inc. (ARAW-ACI).

Under the MOA, all parties committed to monthly river clean-ups, public education campaigns, and workplace environmental initiatives in support of SDGs and national laws, including RA 9275 and RA 9003.
