Angeles City – The Metro Angeles City Journalists Association Incorporated condemns the killing of broadcaster Joey Llana of Albay.
In a statement, MACJAI President Jose Aubrey “Jay” Pelayo IV said Llana’s killing is “a violation on the rights to life and press freedom.”
“We ask the Presidential Task Force on Media Security to look into this case closely,” Pelayo added.
The MACJAI is composed mostly of radio broadcasters and TV reporters from Pampanga. Pelayo is also the president of Pampanga-Tarlac Energy Press Corps.
Llana, a broadcaster in Legazpi City, Albay was shot dead by unidentified gunmen outside his home in Barangay Peñafrancia, Daraga town around 4:45 a.m. Friday.
