In a move to provide immediate protection to residents of Angeles City, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has now launched a blended vaccination scheme fielding six Philippine Rabbit buses and 10 jeepneys to fetch families for vaccination at the City College of Angeles (CCA) under “Sundo Bakuna” starting tomorrow, August 12.
Mayor Lazatin said the “Sundo Bakuna,” an offshoot of the first “Ronda Bakuna in Angeles City” launched on Wednesday in Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios, will start on Thursday morning from 7am up to 3pm in Barangay Cutud.
Some 1,063 residents of Barangay Virgen Delos Remedios were vaccinated on Wednesday using the mobile bus clinic under “Ronda Bakuna.”
Chief Adviser and Tactician IC Calaguas said the “Ronda Bakuna” with its mobile bus clinic will continue to vaccinate families in smaller barangays like Virgen Delos Remedios, Agapito Del Rosario and San Jose.
Calaguas said the Philippine Rabbit buses and jeepneys will fetch families from bigger barangays. “Sundo Bakuna” will kick off in Barangay Cutud and will be taken to other barangays such as Pulung Cacutud, Sapa Libutad, Puluing Maragul, Pandan and Balibago.
Personnel of the Gender and Development Office (GAD), City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), ACEDIPO and ICTD will give out vaccination forms a day before the scheduled vaccination at the CCA.
Mayor Lazatin earlier said: “We have to extend the inoculation at the grassroots level by reaching out to those unreached.” The local chief executive has vowed no one will be left behind in the vaccination program amid the spiking cases of COVID-19 in the country and the threat of the highly transmissible Delta variant.
“Tayo na po ang magsusundo sa mga pami pamilya upang dalhin sila sa CCA upang magpabakuna. Obserbahan lamang po ang mga health at security protocols upang maiwasan natin ang pagkumpol kumpol,” said Mayor Lazatin.
The Angeles LGU was also continuously vaccinating bedridden elderly and PWDs in the city in a bid to reach out to senior citizens who are unable to go to vaccination centers due to old age and health conditions.
“Tayo na po mismo ang pumupunta sa kanila (PWD) upang masiguro na matatanggap nila agad ang bakuna na walang kahirap-hirap lalo na po sila ay kabilang sa ating priority groups,” according to Lazatin.
The mobile vaccination of senior citizens and PWDs starts with an assessment by doctors and health workers of RLLMC and City Health Office, a day before their scheduled vaccination.
The Angeles LGU is now currently vaccinating nearly 6,000 individuals on a daily basis in an effort to shield residents from the threat of the new COVID-19 Delta variant which severely affected countries like India and elsewhere.
