Mayor Lazatin to ACPO: Solve slaying of Korean national in 72 hours

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has directed the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) to solve within 72 hours the fatal shooting incident that occurred in Korean Town on Saturday, April 20.

A Korean national was shot dead in broad daylight along Friendship Highway, near a BPI branch in Korean Town, in what was initially reported as a robbery incident.

The shooting happened at around 1:50pm.

The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital but was later declared dead.

This is the first recorded case involving the death of a Korean national in a shooting linked to robbery in Angeles City.

Mayor Lazatin, expressing deep concern over the incident, instructed ACPO, led by Acting City Director PCol. Joselito Villarosa Jr., to “exhaust all means necessary” to swiftly identify and apprehend the suspect, while ensuring the continued safety of both residents and tourists in the city.

“We will not allow this brutal act to go unresolved. Angeles City must remain a safe place for both locals and foreigners,” Mayor Lazatin said.
